Biography

Je Bahl is a quirky dance music project combining Disco, Funk and Psychedelia.

Musician Brandon Meyer grew up in the charming suburb of Summerhill, TAS. In his early life Brandon spent most of his time outside, growing up on bmx bikes, wakeboarding and punk-rock. His late teens saw him branch out into psychedelia, hiphop and jazz, soundtracking a whirlwind of exploration in life, love and relationships. Summertime has always been right around the corner for Brandon and his music soaks you in it.

In February 2018 Je Bahl delivered an outstanding and hilarious music video portraying a group of young friends enjoying a cocktail party until somebody spikes the drinks and things start getting weird. Since then Je Bahl has progressed quickly releasing the debut album Exotic Radio in late 2018.

You might not know Je Bahl just yet, but we reckon if you're a fan of the likes of Alice Ivy and The Avalances, you're going to be a very big fan very quickly. His new single, while indeed referencing that latter seminal Aussie artist (something he's rerfreshingly open about below), still feels very much like his own thing, and we reckon it is an absolute jam. We've had it on repeat listens all week, and reckon you'll find plenty of use for it any upcoming sunny afternoon chill session. Get to know him a little better below:

Launceston’s Devil State Derby League, Launceston College dance students and the Allstar Cheer and Dance Tasmania come together in a dance, music and roller disco spectacular around Prince’s Square’s stunning Val d’Osne Fountain.
